An invention is a technical fabrication, which means a product, a method or a new use of an already known product that is:
a) new, which means that the fabrication is not known anywhere in the world at the moment of creation; in other words, it is not included in the current state of the art;
b) shows inventive activity, which means that the fabrication is not obvious in the expert of the field where it belongs; and
c) can have industrial application in any productive activity (industrial, agricultural, biotechnical etc).
The above three conditions must be cumulatively fulfilled for the research result to be an invention. Inventions are awarded Patents. If the above three conditions do not apply, but only a and c and the research result is a three-dimensional object, then it is not an invention but an object to which a Utility Model Certificate can be granted.
