The Laboratory of Theoretical and Applied Pedagogy serves the education and research needs of students of the Department of Preschool Education, as well as of in-service Greek teachers. The study and research areas of the laboratory are the following: A) The study of contemporary educational reality and the promotion of scientific research in formal and non-formal education, B) The interweaving of theory and practice through the development of and the transaction with the development of teaching methodology methods and techniques, C) The connection between University and school community through student’s Practical Training, and D) the implementation of innovative actions and activities, the cooperation with schools and teachers, the support towards teachers in the classrooms and towards university students, through communicative and interactive processes.
Study of learning processes and creation of developmental learning environments for teaching various subjects, with particular emphasis on collaborative procedures.
Studies related to initial education and connection between theoretical knowledge and university student’s practical training.
Studies related to the training and professional upgrading of in-service teachers.
Detection and study of primary ideas and representations of pre–school children regarding electricity for the design and implementation of a teaching intervention in kindergarten.
Primary Education and gender stereotypes: a research approach of school textbooks and teaching practice.
