Unit of Virology, Zoonoses and Emerging Diseases receives national and international research projects and trains young scientists to the following research fields: Study of infectious diseases of domestic and wild animals. Epidemiological study of infectious diseases of animals. Molecular epidemiology of pathogens. Application of new diagnostic methods. Application of Geographical Information Systems-GIS.

Identification of high-risk areas for the spread of diseases using GIS.
