The laboratory of Ichthyology – Hydrobiology of the University of Thessaly was established in 1999 and serves the educational and research needs in the fields of Ichthyology and Hydrobiology. Particular to general systemic issues, anatomy, physiology, reproduction, nutrition, breeding, genetics, processing and pathology of aquatic animal organisms, ecology and management of aquatic ecosystems and fisheries.
Studies in the fields of ichthyology of Hydrobiology, fisheries, aquaculture, snail farming, of Limnology, marine biology, protection of aquatic livestock, nutrition of aquatic animal organisms, microbiology, protection and management of water ecosystems and protected areas, economy and management of fishery resources.
