Research Activities

Research in the Lab involves both main research curried out by academic staff and postgraduate students as well as applied funded research programmes. Some of the topics of main research curried by academic staff, postgraduate students and doctorate students are as follows: Post-industrial urban economies and urban landscape transformations Urban redevelopment and Regeneration of declined inner city areas, especially in the case of Greek cities; Green Urban Design and policies for Greek cities; Children and streets: Investigating the spatial choices of children for using streets as playground; Land –use allocation and Planning Legislation in peri-urban space; the case of commerce and services in medium sized Greek cities; New technologies and the impacts on urban morphology;  the case of Athens and Attica; Mega events and their legacy in cities; The case of post-Olympics  Athens.
